Facelift Surgery at Advanced Plastic Surgery Center

What is a Facelift?

Facelift surgery involves removing extra skin and lifting and tightening your facial skin to reduce the appearance of jowls, deep folds between your mouth and nose, and crepey, sagging skin.  There exult is smoother, more you’ll looking skin and a refreshed appearance.  Facelift surgery usually takes 3-4 hours, and all incisions and stitches are placed in inconspicuous locations like your hairline to reduce your risk of visible scarring.

Are there different types of Facelifts?

Facelifts vary in both the area of the face that is treated as well as the layer of tissue that is tightened.

Lower face and neck lifts address jowls, neck laxity, and deep smile lines, while a full upper and lower lift can also address sagging eyebrows and eyelid skin.

A deep plane lift will tighten the deep muscle layers underneath the skin to provide a powerful and lasting result compared to a skin-only facelift.

Dr. Munasifi and Dr. Economides will take a complete history and perform a thorough examination to recommend the best treatment for you.

Am I a good candidate for a lift?

You should be in good overall health to have a facelift.  An ideal candidate for lift will have moderate to severe facial aging.  Our surgeons will provide a comprehensive consultation to learn about your concerns and study your skin and features to determine the best treatment to help you achieve your desired appearance.  For example a lift is an excellent solution for loose, sagging skin, but laser resurfacing may added for fine lines and discoloration due to sun damage.

Dr Munasifi gave me a face lift and corrected my eyelid ten years ago. The look was and remains amazing. Yesterday he gave me some suggestions to improve the look of my upper face. I am extremely satisfied with the results.

Recovery & What to Expect After a Facelift Proceedure

After your facelift is complete, your surgeon applies bandages around your face to secure your repositioned skin and protect the sutures. You can expect some bruising, swelling, and tenderness after the surgery. Still, these side effects usually start to subside within a week, which is generally when your surgeon removes your bandages. Additionally, in most cases, over-the-counter pain medication should reduce any discomfort.

When You Can Return to Regular Activities After a Facelift

You can return to work after your surgeon removes your bandages, but you may want to take off more time or work from home to allow more time for your bruising to fade. You need to avoid vigorous physical activity for at least six weeks after your surgery.
